Journalist arrested in Jalilabad can be imprisoned for five years
A lawyer Elchin Sadigov is going to protect the rights of the journalist arrested in Jalilabad region. He wrote about this on his page on Facebook. The lawyer said that the editor of the website "azel.tv" is charged under Article 127.2.3 (deliberate causing of less serious harm to health, dangerous way of hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. He faces up to five years in prison.
E.Sadigov will meet with his client next week. According to the lawyer, the case is already in court, and at the preparatory meeting the journalist was arrested for three months. The lawyer believes the journalist is persecuted for the publication of the illegalities in Jalilabad region.
Earlier, the journalist's mother said that her son was writing regularly on his website about the violations of the rights of citizens and the arbitrariness of officials. "He was warned several times and demanded to stop the criticism, but he was not afraid," said the mother. Some time ago, he was summoned to the executive power of Jalilabad, and there he was attacked by a woman. The incident was immediately recorded. Turan failed to get comments in the executive branch and the police. -05D06-
