Karabakh Sambo Wrestlers to Perform in Baku
Two Armenians of Karabakh are going to perform at the European Games in Baku as part of the Armenian team. According to the Armenian service of Radio Liberty, sambo wrestlers Sos Balasaryan and Ashot Gabrielyan will leave for Baku through Tbilisi on June 20 and their performances will be held on 23June.
Radio recalls that after the victory of Ashot Gabrielyan in Moscow at the World Cup in Sambo, the Azerbaijani athlete ostentatiously squatted during the performance of the anthem of Armenia.
According to the coaches, the International and European Olympic Committees and the Azerbaijani authorities have given security guarantees.
Armenians expect to win prizes and raise their flag in Baku. To this end, they carry out the necessary work with the athletes to overcome the psychological barrier. -02D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
