Lake Boyuk Shor transferred to the Ministry of Economy
Yesterday President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree " On additional measures to improve the environment, protection and use of the Boyuk Shor lake."
According to the document, control on the use and protection of Lake Boyuk Shor in Baku is transferred to the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
This office is requested to ensure the recovery of the lake, the elimination of industrial and household waste in it, security, improving the environment and its sustainable use in the future , as well as monitoring its preservation .
However, JSC Azersu and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic are to take the necessary measures to prevent the dumping of sewage waters into the lake.
Baku Executive Power is required to prevent discharging industrial waste into the lake and its buffer zone, and the wastage of soil on its shores, leading to reduction in the surface of the lake.
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources is in charge of passing all the documentation and other data related to the lake to the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan in a month's term.
Earlier, President Aliyev said that the area around Lake Boyuk Shor will be landscaped and in the long term it is supposed to create recreational areas there. -06D -
