Lawyer Requests Police Examination of Fingerprints
The lawyer Elchin Sadigov filed a motion to the main police department of Baku in connection with charges of drug trafficking for the youth activists Bayram Mammadov and Giyas Ibrahimov.
As the lawyer wrote on his Facebook page, he requests an examination of fingerprints on the plastic bags with drugs allegedly seized from the young people.
The lawyer also proposes to conduct a similar examination on bags with drugs allegedly found in their apartments.
Sadigov asked to determine how many fingerprints were found on the bags and how many people and who exactly they belong to.
He also insisted on the examination of fingerprints of the police officers involved in the operation, as well as the head of the Drug Enforcement Office, his deputies and all staff, as well as the young people themselves.
"If these requests are met, it will be proved that the drugs are not relevant to Mammadov and Ibrahimov and they were planted by the police," Sadigov said.
He also said that Mammadov is on the fifth day of his hunger strike in protest against the non-investigation of the torture.
The young people deny the charges and say they were arrested for graffiti made on the monument to Heydar Aliyev. -05D06-
