Man Arrested in Dagestan for Importing 500,000 USD from Azerbaijan
The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan approved the indictment in a criminal case against a resident of the republic K. Aliyev, who was detained while trying to import from Azerbaijan currency on a large scale, bypassing customs controls.
Aliyev is accused under the illegal cross-border movement of cash in a large scale, said the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan.
According to the same source, the incident occurred in September 2015. Aliyev, at the entrance to the territory of Russia from Azerbaijan through the checkpoint Tagirkent – Kazmalyar, illegally drove across the border more than 424 thousand US dollars and 4.5 million rubles, hidden in the recesses of the body of the car.
The criminal case was sent to the Magerramkent district court for consideration on the merits.
