Media Review - 4 September 2018
Acceleration of planting parks in Baku, the continuing growth of problem loans, and the half-billion damage caused to Azersu are the leading topics of the media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes that once the city workers, Baku has turned into a center for the synthesis of the culture of East and West. People are particularly pleased with the creation of numerous parks, which have been planted more and more in the recent years.
The Seaside Boulevard, the length of which was 3 km, is now stretched up to 16 km. The author also gives the rating of 12 most attractive parks of the capital.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya continues to write about problem loans, which as of August 1 amounted to 1,782.1 million manat.
Compared to the beginning of the year, problem loans increased by 9.55%, and compared to August 1 of the previous year, they decreased by 1.7%.
There is no general strategy to reduce the number of problem loans.
The Musavat website writes that the damage caused to Azersu has exceeded half a million manat. According to the report for 2017, the damage amounted to 505 million 350 thousand manat. In comparison with 2016, this is by 104.5 million manat less. The expert assumes that the payment for water and sewerage services can rise in price. He believes the only solution to this problem is the transfer of this service to the private sector. The fact that Azersu is at a loss is also caused by bad management. -0--
