The development of shipbuilding in Azerbaijan, the analysis of entrance examinations to universities, and the continuing dependence of the economy on oil are the leading topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the development of shipbuilding in the country. In particular, the activities of the Baku Shipyard, which can produce ships used in oil and gas operations, cargo and military vessels, are mentioned. In a year the factory produces 25 thousand tons of metal structures. The enterprise produced two tankers with a carrying capacity of 15,000 and 70,000 tons and four ships with deep-water equipment. Every year from 80 to 100 ships of various purposes are repaired. The biggest success of the plant is the commissioning of the ship Khankendi.
The website Bizimyol.info discusses the subject of passing the entrance examinations, scores, and why the State Examination Center does not publish the results. The article is about the conflict between the Center and the independent expert K. Asadov, whom the Center has sued. The expert wondered why the entrant, who scored 596 points, did not enter the university. For this statement the Center sued the expert. The website discusses this situation with the President of the Internet Forum Osman Gunduz. The latter condemns the Center's action, noting that this office is fairly transparent and accountable and it had better not act this way. In his opinion, the announcement of the results of examinations can put an end to disputes.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya continues to write about the dependence of the country's economy on oil. Despite the attempts of the Azerbaijani government to withdraw from the one-sided economy, it is not possible to achieve this in a short time, so oil and gas will again come to the rescue. But the prices for these fuels still depend on the US whims. The fact is that the current model of the Azerbaijani economy depends entirely on oil. Given the production of 40 million tons of oil per year, it will last for a maximum of 50 years. In the meantime, gas will last for 80 years. Therefore, we have already had to prefer the non-oil sector development, otherwise the new generation will not get anything. It is important to develop such sectors of the economy that will become an alternative to oil and gas. But this must be science-intensive projects that will allow the country to increase the income in the future. --0----

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
