Media Review - December 28, 2018
The confident development of the country and the "bias of ill-wishers" who have not found solutions to the problem, and a look at the transfer of enterprises outside of Baku are the leading themes of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the safe and sustainable development of the country and "ill-wishers," who cannot "digest the successes achieved". The author quotes from a recent interview with the head of state of the Russian TV channel Russia-24, where he speaks of a slanderous campaign and false propaganda in the press about Azerbaijan. Stable, sustainable development of the country does not give rest to the ill-wishers of Azerbaijan. The article also speaks about the economic results of the year. The year 2018 was named successful for Azerbaijan, since this year investments in the amount of $ 10 billion were attracted, and following the results of 11 months in the non-oil sector, the increase was more than 9 percent, inflation was slightly more than 2 percent, and the income of the population increased by more than 9%.
The website Teleqraf.com summarizes the results of the outgoing year together with the MP Ali Masimli. Among the positive points, the MP called the stability of the manat, increasing the positive balance of payments, the growth of foreign exchange reserves, and changes in legislation to eliminate the shadow economy. There are also negative aspects - the incompleteness of the bank recovery process in 2018, problem loans, the amount of which is close to 2 billion manat. Their share in the loan portfolio exceeded 14%, and every fourth in the country owes banks.
The newspaper Yeni Musavat writes that industrial enterprises will be moved outside the capital. This was recently announced by the capital"s Mayor Eldar Azizov, explaining such a move with crowding in the capital and with the abundance of traffic jams. It is also provided for by the new Master Plan of Baku. Ecologist Sevil Yuzbasheva reminds that Baku was an industrial city in Soviet times, but after the collapse of the USSR, most of the enterprises were closed, and various companies were set up in their place - private enterprises and workshops. According to the ecologist, with the transfer of enterprises, the problem of pollution of new territories will appear, and the best solution is the use of new technologies. The problem of the sewage system of the capital, the multiplicity of various catering and trade facilities, which also creates crowding in the city, remains unresolved. -0-
