The situation with the coronavirus in the country, the significance of the Lachin corridor, and the possibility of joint residence of Armenians and Azerbaijanis are topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan continues to write about the fight against the coronavirus, from which the world has been suffering for almost a year. In recent days, the situation in Azerbaijan is not encouraging either; the increased number of deaths is causing serious concern. In terms of developing a vaccine against this infection, biotech company Moderna says it will apply for urgent use of European COVID-19 vaccines. According to the latest test, the vaccine was 94 percent effective against the coronavirus. You just have to adhere to the established rules and learn to live with this reality.
The website Yenisabah.az cites the opinion of experts regarding the stay of Armenians in Karabakh. He notes that their exit from the country was not fully envisaged, it is about disarmament and the withdrawal of weapons from Karabakh. In principle, peacekeeping forces were brought in to return Armenians to NK, as is customary in world practice. Back in 1992-94, Azerbaijan did not agree with the formation of a second Armenian state in Karabakh, all the more so in Azerbaijan now. And a tripartite statement of November 10 eliminated their claims of independence.
The website Oxu.az discusses the significance of the Lachin and Meghri corridors with the professor of history, head of the department of St. Petersburg University Niyazi Niyazov. He believes that the new corridors will be significant for all parties to the conflict, including Turkey and Russia. This project will cover not only the Lachin, but also the Nakhchivan corridor.
The presence of these corridors will be of great economic importance, since the countries of the region will be able to implement major economic projects. The professor believes that Armenia stands at crossroads - to continue the conflict or to join projects.
As you know, since 1993 Armenia has been in geo-economic isolation, since it is not connected to any regional project. As for the Armenians who arrived in Karabakh from the Middle East, they must be resettled. If we are guided by international law, then the Armenians in these territories are stationed illegally, so they must leave there. As for the Armenians - former citizens of Azerbaijan, they remain as they are, and their descendants become citizens automatically.

Azerbaijani historian and public figure Dr. Jamil Hasanli has sharply criticized the recent wave of arrests targeting journalists, comparing the situation to the mass repressions of 1937 under Soviet rule. Speaking out on Saturday, Hasanli alleged that journalists working for the Baku-based "Meydan TV" were collectively detained, marking a grim milestone in the country's press freedom landscape.

For Elshan Hasanov, a 46-year-old man with severe hearing impairment (fourth-degree), what should have been a straightforward process to receive government-provided hearing aids has turned into a bureaucratic nightmare involving three healthcare agencies. As a result, Hasanov is forced to pay nearly 60 manats ($35) several times a year for what used to be a free service—a cost he says is untenable on his modest disability pension.
