Factors that have influenced the outcome of the 44-day Second Karabakh War, the need to deploy Turkish peacekeepers in Karabakh, a proposal to reduce the cost of coronavirus tests, and the reasons for infection in recent years are topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the factors that influenced the results of the Second Karabakh war. Military experts believe that for each of the belligerents there can be 4 outcomes: defeat, compromise, profit and victory. Azerbaijan has achieved victory. The article says that Armenia, whose population is 2.5 million people, lost more than 0.5% of the total population of the country in this war. And this is one of the important factors leading to defeat. As for Azerbaijan, unity was demonstrated during the war, and this is one of the factors leading to victory. The author believes that the statement of November 10 was signed on time in favor of Azerbaijan.
The website Mətbuat.az discusses the issue of the need for Turkish peacekeepers to stay in Khankendi. It is believed that the unilateral presence of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh serves only to strengthen Moscow's position. Moreover, this contradicts the statement agreed on November 10. Strengthening the tandem of Azerbaijan and Turkey will increase international pressure on Russia from next year, which will weaken its position in the region. It should be noted that Russia came as peacekeepers to a small part of Karabakh for its own purposes, protecting the Armenians; Moscow is preparing to use them in the future. At the same time, it is emphasized that Moscow does not intend to exist in Karabakh as a "peacemaker", but intends to strengthen its military potential and create pressure in the future, and Azerbaijan cannot allow this. In addition, the article says that Moscow, under various pretexts, may oppose the resettlement of Azerbaijanis. To prevent Russia from creating problems in the future, it is necessary to strengthen the Azerbaijan-Turkey union, and the Azerbaijani flag should be raised over Khankendi, Agdere, and Khojavend.
The website Modern.az cites the MP's opinion on the reduction of the cost of the coronavirus test. The number of infected people is increasing dramatically not only in Azerbaijan, but throughout the world. The situation is beginning to become desperate. The virus is rapidly spreading not only in Baku and Sumgayit, but also in regions of the country. Everyone uses masks, but the situation doesn't get any easier. It is necessary to conduct examination, treatment and testing centrally. People do not have money to give first 100 manats for testing, and then for treatment. The MP proposes to reduce the cost of the test from 100 manats to 20-30 manats.
The website Moderator.az writes about the situation with the coronavirus, noting that as of December 7, 2020, the number of infected people was 3,086 in one day. This means that in comparison with the previous day, the number of people infected has increased by 7.6%. The article says that 19,197 tests were done on December 6, of which 4356, or 22.7%, confirmed infection with the virus. The number of infections in 10,190 tests taken every other day was 3,086, which is 30.3% of these tests. All of this is of great concern. The article notes that during the period of the strictest quarantine regime, the number of daily infections in the country was 15-20 times less than today.

The closure of Azerbaijan's land borders was discussed during the parliamentary session on November 25. While the government’s decision cites the coronavirus pandemic as the main reason—despite the World Health Organization declaring its end last year—Zahid Oruj, Chair of the Human Rights Committee in the Milli Majlis, pointed to other factors. He stated, "Opening the borders could result in an influx of hundreds of thousands of non-Azerbaijani refugees due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, in Iran, many are prepared to cross into Azerbaijan to safeguard their lives and assets amid military strikes. Such waves of refugees could lead to humanitarian, social, and cultural clashes that may threaten political stability."
