Media Review for January 13, 2020
The development of a non-oil structure, the possible rise in price of postal services, and a rise in price in the real estate market are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan reports on the growth of export of non-oil products, which in January-November 2019 amounted to $ 18.3 billion, which is $ 249 million more than in 2018.
Among export items, tomatoes account for $ 166.7 million, gold - $ 157.7 million, and peeled hazelnuts - $ 13.5 million.
Azerkosmos OJSC for this period rendered services to 26 countries of the world for $ 40.6 million.
Over the same period, Azexport.az portal received orders worth $ 532.3 million.
The top five countries that imported products from Azerbaijan are Russia, Turkey, England, India and the USA.
The website Yeni Sabah.az writes that changes to the law “On mail” will lead to higher prices for services. So, it is proposed to stop subsidizing postal operators and establish a free pricing policy.
All over the world there are both state and private postal structures. In Europe, this service is mostly private. Therefore, an alternative public private service should be created in Azerbaijan, experts say.
The website Bizimyol.info writes about rising prices in the housing market. Market activity has arisen since October 2019. In December, prices increased by 1.1%, in the primary market by 2.3%, in the land market by 1%, and in commercial facilities by 0.7%.
