Media Review September 26, 2018
Providing the country's population with work, the situation in the judicial and legal system, and inactivity of the currency exchange offices are the leading topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes that the country's economic development provides the population with work and eliminates unemployment, which has fallen to 5%.
The author cites quotes from the speeches of President Ilham Aliyev regarding the program of self-employment. If annually 6-7 thousand people are involved in this program, then in a few years the need for social assistance will disappear, the head of state declares.
The article also talks about industrial parks, which have created about 11 thousand new jobs. In the following period, 7,500 new jobs will be opened in this area.
The newspaper Novoye Vremya writes about independent justice - the guarantor of equality of all before the law. The Azerbaijani justice must in practice prove that it is a branch of power, and not the executor of the will of other powers.
Such reasoning is done against the background of the analysis of the decision of the Judicial-Legal Council on the punishment of judges for unlawful decisions.
The website Modern.az discusses why the official currency exchange offices, which operated until March 2016, are not opened in Baku. MP Rufat Guliyev raised this issue at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on September 25, stating that amendments were made to the relevant law for the opening of exchange offices.
The country has set a goal - the development of tourism, but the exchangers are not officially opened. The Financial Market Supervision Authority notes that the opening of exchangers is possible only after the entry of all regulations into force.
