Meeting of the British Ambassador with a group of Azerbaijani journalists
The British Ambassador in Baku, Piter Bateman, organized at his residence a reception for a group of journalists on the occasion of the beginning of Ramadan month and the National Press Day in Azerbaijan.
Welcoming the guests, he emphasized that Ramadan is increasingly becoming part of the British culture, and Muslims in his country with great joy observe religious rites in this month.
On the occasion of the beginning of Ramadan, Prime Minister David Cameron , Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister William Hague made a special message to the Muslims of the country and the world.
Bateman also congratulated the Azerbaijani journalists in connection with the April 22 marked as a National Press Day, stressing that free and independent media are a precondition for the existence of a democratic society.—06D-
