Ministry for Emergency Situations (MES) asks to confirm or deny their own information
Headquarters Kura Civil Society sent aletter to the Minister for Emergency Situations, Kamaladdin Heydarov, requesting clarification of conflicting statements of MES to address the effects of the earthquake in the north-western regions of Azerbaijan.
Coordinator of Staff Kura, Oktay Gulalyev, said Turan, that after the publication on November 23 a report on the state of affairs in the quake zone, there appeared some information in media referring to the MES, not meeting the results of the staff. The “Kura” headquarters stated about the construction of several houses and schools in the earthquake zone by November this year; but sources close to the MES, noted 682 houses. The “Kura” headquarters asked to note all the names of the owners of those houses, and the addresses of houses, According to information from Gakh, Sheki and Belokany regions, only a few houses were built out of a planned 3,500 homes.

We are interested in such issues, where homeless people will spend winter, whether they are paid money to pay rent or any compensation, where kindergarten have been relocated, and whether they pay their rent in occupied homes, said Gyulalyev.—0—
