Ministry of Emergency Situations ignores another trial
Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) again did not come to another trial in the case of a flood in 2010 in the Court of Appeal of Shirvan city. The representative of MES again failed to appear in court, which is held on a complaint of citizens affected by flooding.
On Wednesday, the court was to consider the claims of six citizens Imishli and Kurdamir regions against the MES, who demand to fulfill the government's decision on repair and building houses for the victims. The judge Rafal Eyvazov said he would send a letter to the MES demanding to respond to the claims.
Next hearing on claims of four more groups of citizens from Sabirabad region will take place in the near future. A total of 132 claimed.
Trials should be held in Baku at the defendant. After several meetings, the trials were transferred to Shirvan to hinder participation and protection of the complainants in the trials. However, this was not achieved, and the MES now simply ignores the courts.
To relief flood the government has allocated about 500 million manat, and most part of which was transferred to the department of the MES for flood relief. The activities by MES were accompanied by large-scale corruption and embezzlement of funds.—0—
