As a result of heavy rain on July 10-11 in the Gabala region, streets, acreage, homes and farms have been flooded, according to the executive power of the region. Strong rainfall caused serious damage in the villages of Bunut, Nohurgyshlag, Laza, Durucha, Zaragan, Wanda.
Mudslides damaged roads in the district center, and flooded 10 central streets. Water level was 30 cm and flooded basements of houses.
River levels rose by two meters on the Tikanly-Garachay, Hamzalichay, Tyuryanchay, Demiraparanchay, Bumchay, Mirzebeylichay, and Vandamchai rivers. Mudslides have destroyed some dams, three road bridges, as well as three water crossings on the river Garachay, which runs through the town of Gabala. The government is taking steps to eliminate the damage.
Two days earlier torrential rains caused similar damage in the villages in Agsu and Shamakhi regions, where one person died.-0-
