New list of political prisoners in Azerbaijan will be published
Today a meeting of the Committee to Protect Civil Society (CPSC) took place. According to the Head of the monitoring of political prisoners, Elshan Hasanov, the main topic of discussion was the protection of the rights of political prisoners. In particular, a list of political prisoners of 78 people was considered. It was decided to publish it in the coming days, and to urge the authorities to release these people. The meeting also discussed the issue of putting pressure on investigative journalist Aynur Imranov. The participants condemned the multiple summons of Imranov for questioning to the Prosecutor General, and the ban on her leaving the country.
*The CPSC was established in 2009, and included about 100 independent NGOs. Currently, in the CPSC are actively involved about 20 activists. Most of its members are under arrest, or have left the country. -06B-
