Oppositionists Appeal Not Satisfied
Baku / 15.08.18 / Turan: The Baku Court of Appeal left without satisfaction the complaint of the activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Babek Hasanov.
The appeal was filed against the decision of the Nasimi court of Baku to refuse to transfer Hasanov under house arrest.
Now, according to the PFPA, the defense will send a complaint about the pre-trial detention of Hasanov to the European Court of Human Rights.
At the same time, on August 14, the consideration of Hasanov's complaint against the Prosecutor General's Office was adjourned in the Nasimi court due to the imposition of the investigation of the ban on meetings and telephone conversations with relatives.
The complaint will be considered on August 16.
* On May 25, the PFPA activists Aghil Maharramov, Ruslan Nasirli and Babek Hasanov were arrested. They were attracted to investigation together with the former head of the Gadabay region Saleh Rustamov and his nephew Vidadi Rustamli. They were accused of "laundering dirty money", which was expressed in the transfer of PFPA donations collected from Azerbaijani businessmen in Russia.
All the accused are recognized as political prisoners by human rights activists. -03B06-
