Parliament increased the retirement age and the length of service of prosecutors

The Azerbaijani Parliament adopted changes to the law "On labor pensions" on Friday, according to which the retirement age for the country is increased for men and women up to 65 years. Till now for men the retirement age was 63 years, and for women - 60 years.

Presenting the bill, the head of the parliamentary committee on labor and social policy, Hadi Rajabli, noted that the retirement age will gradually increase.

So, from January 2017 until 2021 for men the retirement age will increase every year by six months. For women this process will take 10 years - until 2017, and every year the growth will be 6 months and will be brought to 65 years.

According to other changes in the law, the seniority for civil servants has been increased from 15 to 20 years, for prosecutors the experience has been increased from 25 to 35 years, for other categories the necessary experience is increased by 5 years. According to the amendments, the concept of the "base part" of a pension is abolished. Instead, the minimum pension will be applied, the size of which will be 110 manats. -71D-
