Activist of the Yasamal district branch of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party (APFP), Samir Mammadov was arrested today for 30 days, according to the PFPA deputy chairman Geza Bayramli. She said that the young man was taken away on November 3 at the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GUBOP) MIA. The PFPA leader Ali Kerimli assessed the arrest of an activist as the desire of the authorities to prevent the involvement of youth in social and political processes. "But they do not realize that all the former dictatorship and authoritarian regimes, also tried to intimidate society with arrests, repression, but in vain," wrote Kerimli on his page on facebook. In his view, "the Azerbaijani authorities are awaiting the same fate." It should be noted that today about 10 members of PPFA are under arrest - it is the largest number of arrested members in any opposition party in Azerbaijan. -03B-
