The growing number of self-financing entities, the failure of economic policy, the recent decision of the Tariff Council, and evaluation of changes in legislation are the leading topics of today's press.
The Azerbaijan newspaper writes about the growth of self-financing entities to 5 units. The author recalls that in 2015-16 seven cities and districts do not receive state subsidies. Their number will reach 34 in 2017.
The website Azadliq.info discusses with experts the statement the chief banker of the country Elman Rustamov, who said the country’s situation is difficult, but not disastrous. In 1990s, the situation was much worse, Rustamov said. The author gives expert opinion on the statements of Rustamov.
The Echo newspaper published an article about the forecasted increase in the gas and electricity rates. "This decision of the Tariff Council will have psychological and economic consequences, said economist Gubad Ibadoglu. According to him, all products, in the cost of which the cost of gas and electricity is included, will rise. The main blow will be on the production of bread and bakery products, and transportation working on electricity and gas.

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
