 In connection with Ramadan most newspapers were not published today. Only Azadlig and Yeni Musavat were issued.

  Ziya Mammadov, the Minister of Transport, bought a private jet. Following the ruling family and the Minister of Emergency Situations, he was allowed to fly in the Gulf Stream system.
  For ten days, 160 cafes and teahouses were closed in Nakhchivan. Only 2-3 institutions, owned by high-ranking officials, are active.

   Today the court in Tabriz, Iran may announce a sentence of Azerbaijani writers Farid Hussein and Shahriyar Hajizadeh.
   The newspaper published an article entitled "The authorities are pushing entrepreneurs to the opposition camp”, facilitated by lawlessness in the economy.
   The Central Bank does not want to license Gilan Bank, controlled by the Emergency Situations Minister. The paper continues saying the housing rehabilitation is delayed for victims of the earthquake in Zagatala and Gakh.
   There is information on settlement plans for Kurds from Iran, Syria and Iraq in Nakhchivan. That is why the government is trying to make the local population leave the region. 
   Well-known French lawyer Andre Jami, has begun to defend the rights Movsum Samedov, convicted chairman of the Azerbaijan Islamic Party. He has been in Baku for two days, getting familiar with the criminal case and holding meetings with human rights defenders. –0--
