The development of industry, the consequences of corruption, lack of development of the middle class, buying and selling currency on the black market are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan talks about the brand Made in Azerbaijan, which Ilham Aliyev wants to turn into a global brand. The author also writes about developments in the industry, as it is one of the priorities. The country creates modern infrastructure and industrial parks and implements reforms. Some products available in the CIS and the Middle East arte made only in Azerbaijan, the author writes.
The website Azadliq.info writes about corruption and its consequences. In Azerbaijan officials usually have a lot of money. However, an official cannot remain in his position, if he does not take bribes and share them with the top, and if he does not sign unscrupulous transactions. Corruption is turning into trouble for the corrupt themselves, as in the absence of transparency requirements are also impossible.
Echo publishes an article about the country's middle class, which makes up 12% of the total population. The level of "middle class" peaked in 2015. During the year the number of the middle class has decreased by three percentage points.
Middle class in Azerbaijan is a family of four, having their own apartment (real estate), a car, and education and earning over one thousand manat per month.
The upper class includes 10% of the population, while the remaining 78% are the lowest class, with their earnings below the national average.
Novoye Vremya writes about the black currency market, which has now replaced commercial banks in the matter of currency buying and selling.
Saving this situation contributes to the cheapening of the manat, and its gradual replacement from the market of services.
