Press Review - January 20, 2018
The events of January 20, the implementation of orders in connection with the reforms, and the continuing rise in prices for food products are the leading topics of today's press.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the events of January 20, 1990 and their role in the history of the country. These events were a manifestation of the people's desire for freedom and independence. The author makes a historical digression, recounts and analyzes the events of the Black January.
The website Azadliq.info writes about the reforms, which live only in the orders of President Aliyev, as the orders remain on paper. The author lists newly created structures, state agencies, road maps, however, the results of these reforms are for some reason impossible to see. The article talks about the preparation of a new law "On investment activity". However, the author notes, this requires appropriate conditions.

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
