Quarantine period for COVID patients reduced to seven days in Azerbaijan
Baku/22.01.22/Turan: In Azerbaijan, the quarantine period for those infected with coronavirus has been reduced from 14 to 7 days. The State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance and the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Units, this step was taken in accordance with the WHO recommendations to review measures to combat this disease due to the spread of a new strain of "omicron" of the SARS-CoV-2 virus,the joint message of the Ministry of Health.
In this regard, changes are being made to testing strategies, quarantine periods, methods of observation and treatment of patients, taking into account the specific features of the new strain. Therefore, taking into account international experience and the results of recent scientific studies, the duration of isolation (quarantine) of people with a positive PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 and those who are in close contact with them is reduced from 14 to 7 days from January 24.—06в-
