Radik Isayev brings Azerbaijan the 13th gold medal
On Friday the Azerbaijani sportsmen Radik Isayev became the champion of the European Games in taekwondo among athletes in the weight category of 80 kg. He started with the second round, defeating Van Gerona Roezha from the Netherlands. In the semifinals, Isayev won she a Ivan Trajkovic from Sloveniya.
Final match was dramatic, when Isayev met with the Russian Vladislav Larin. At the beginning of the third period Isayev score was 3: 1. However, Larin managed to restore the balance, but a few seconds before the end Isayev managed to snatch the victory with the score 4: 3.
Thus, on the results of the first seven days of competition in the medal standings Azerbaijan retains second place with 30 medals (13 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze.) First ranks Russia with 49 medals (27 -12-10), and the third ranks Hungary with 14 medals (7- 2 -5.)- 06D—
