Residents of Massali intend to start a mass hunger strike
A group of residents of Massali region held press conference in the Media Center IRFS at which they claimed a violation of their rights by the local authorities. Chairman of Public Association of the intelligentsia of the region, Mammadaga Eynullaev, stated that the residents are tired of living under the constant pressure and insults, tired of the arbitrariness of bureaucrats. "Today we last time present our complaints to the Presidential Administration. If within one month there is not an answer, then we will declare an indefinite hunger strike, will defend all forms of protest permitted by law," he said.
At a press conference the main target of criticism was the chief executive of Masally region, Rafiq Huseynov. Residents talked about corruption, privatization of land with forged documents, poor condition of roads, the indifference of officials to residents complaints, scams in the appointment of targeted social assistance, illegal use of water resources, bribery in hospitals.
"Due to corruption , we sent to the Anti-Corruption Committee 470 telegrams ," said Yaqub Kazimly, the villager of Huseynhajili.
They also criticized the head of the District Offices Social Security Fund, Nahid Shamshir (his father works in the General Prosecutor Office, and his uncle is the head of “Azeryolservis”, Javid Gurbanov) ,and deputy executive for Agrarian Affairs, Nasir Mukhtarly.
According to Mammadaga Eynullayev, the roads in the region are very bad. The state program on development of regions is perceived as a personal program of the chief executive of Massali. Roads are build only in the downtown area. Each newly appointed head of the district rebuilds Heydar Aliyev Museum and the building of Executive Power.
The Union of Intellectuals of Massali investigated the issue of targeted social assistance for more than 10,000 residents of the district for the period 2011-14 years. Interviews were conducted among the population. It was revealed that tens of millions of funds were misappropriated. On average, families were issued a year the amount between 100 and 500 manat. According to Shamseddin Mikayilov, the villager of Arkivan, it is necessary to give legal assessment to this fact of corruption. Residents talked about bribes in school, kidnapping cattle, and other gross violations of the law.
Intellectuals of the region ask the president to receive them. "We repeatedly wrote to the Prosecutor General , the President's Administration , the Head of State , Ministry of Internal Affairs of corruption and offenses , but did not receive answer," complained residents of the region. -03C04-
