The judge of Baku Serious Crimes Court Enver Seyidov has been hospitalized. The Court confirmed this information, saying that since the end of the last week Seyidov has not come to work. Turan failed to get any information about the health of the judge.
The Judicial Council did not answer the question.
The judge of Baku Serious Crimes Court, Enver Seyidov recently completed trial in the case of youth activist Giyas Ibrahimov. The judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison on charges of drug-related crimes. But in fact, Ibrahimov was arrested for writing the slogan "Happy slaves!" on the monument to Heydar Aliyev. The name of Enver Seyidov recently was mentioned in connection with the scandalous verdict Giyas Ibrahimov.
The same judge sentenced the accused Elmeddin Agayev to 19 years in prison for murder. After that sentence there began a fuss in the court hall. On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
