Scandalous MP promised to apologize
On Tuesday took place a meeting of the Disciplinary Commission of the Milli Majlis that considered the question of unacceptable statements by the deputy Astan Shahverdiyev.
According to the report on the website, the MM Shahverdiyev regretted his statements, which caused indignation of the Azerbaijanis living in Russia and other countries. He said he realized his mistake and asked for an apology to the citizens of the country, and the Azerbaijanis living outside the country.
Members of the Disciplinary Commission, called the remarks unacceptable, recommending him to ask for an apology from the Azerbaijani people. The deputy promised to apologize.
On 22 December Shahverdiyev called "waste," "drunks" and "drug addicts" refugees from Jabrail, who staged a protest action in connection with turning off the electricity. The MP also called the "scum" of those Azerbaijanis who work in the markets in Russia. These statements have caused indignation on the Internet, of many Azerbaijanis living in Russia who demanded to punish the deputy.
Similar reaction was in Azerbaijan, where several MPs strongly condemned the statements of Shahverdiyev.-05D-
