Seismic stations to be installed around mud volcanoes
Baku / 05.07.21 / Turan: The installation of new seismic stations has started in Azerbaijan, according to the Republican Center of the Seismological Service (RCSS) under the NASA.
These measures are underway within the framework of the project "Seismic Network Expansion in the Caucasus and Central Asia which is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Center for Science and Technology.
Note that the work has already been carried out to set the foundation of seismic stations on sites of Ismailli, Dashkesan and Tovuz regions. "At present, the work is underway to install seismic stations in other regions with mud volcanoes as well," the report said.
It has to be kept in mind that the project "Seismic Network Expansion in the Caucasus and Central Asia" provides for installation of 22 seismic stations in Azerbaijan to thus increase the number of seismic stations in the country from 62 to 84. - 05D06 -
