Baku/01.02.21/Turan: Chairman of the "Student Power Center" (SPC) Ahad Mammadli was detained on February 1 on his way to the building of Lankaran State University to read out the organization's statement, Turan was informed in the SPC. According to the same source, Mammadli was detained by police officers who were summoned from the university. The statement he was about to read was related to the violation of students' rights.

“At the winter examination session, students from all universities in the country faced problems with the examination process and tuition fees. One of the universities where the student had to pass exams in difficult and unfair conditions is the Lankaran State University.

Immediately after the beginning of the session, the students were told that if they did not pay the annual fee, they would not be allowed to take the exams, let them not write an application asking for a deferred payment,” students' representatives told Turan

The university administration refused the request of students to take into account their opinion. Therefore, on February 1, the students decided to express their discontent by announcing a protest statement in front of LSU.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the Turan correspondent that information on this issue would be provided later. –06D-
