Takayev, extradited to Russia did not stay long at large
Baku / 15.03.19 / Turan: Azerbaijan's participant of the first and second Chechen wars, February 14, SayidHuseynTakaev was arrested in October 2004 along with other persons who were part of a group directly connected with the international terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. The group carried out the order of the coordinator of Al-Qaeda in the Caucasus, Abu Khafza.
The Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan declassified information about the detention of members of the group and its neutralization only in July 2005.According to the MNS, the group was preparing terrorist acts in the territory of Azerbaijan and neighboring countries.
According to the Ministry of National Security, six months ago a whole complex of events was carried out at the international level with the participation of the partner countries of Azerbaijan in the international antiterrorist coalition. As a result, a whole network of accomplices of the group in different countries of the world was discovered.
In the course of the investigation, tens of thousands of dollars were withdrawn, more than 10 explosive remote control mechanisms, weapons, 100 "Kenwood" radios, and 18 fake passports of France, Iran, Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Georgia and Russia that were are written in the names of former citizens of the USSR.
Sayid Hussein Takayev and two other Russian citizens - AlikhanBalayev, Suleiman Isayev were sentenced to 12 years in prison.
After his release, Takayev was in Azerbaijan, and was registered at the Baku office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
On February 16, Turan appealed to the state agencies with the question of Takayev's extradition, but the state structures refused to answer. There are no comments for today. -0--
