Teacher Rovshan Azizov: Judge Appointed Investigation against School Director
Baku / 15.03.18 / Turan: Today's hearing at the Nizami district court on the suit of the teacher of School-Lyceum No. 220 Rovshan Azizov against the school"s leadership, who dismissed Azizov from his job, ended in an unexpected way. Having considered yesterday's request of Azizov to review the video recording of the visit of representatives of the Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO, December 20, 2017) to the school with the demand to dismiss the teacher, Judge Mazahir Sadygov decided to appoint a separate investigation of the incident with KLO. The director present at the trial was surprised and indignant at the judge's decision today. The next hearing is scheduled for March 25.
"On Wednesday, I filed a video in the court, which shows how KLO is coming to school, requires the director to dismiss me for allegedly encouraging schoolchildren to be friends with Armenians and preparing children for the Armenian army. The video shows how the members of KLO enter the school, pass the guard and speak against me in the director's office, and the head teacher of the school, instead of making these people leave the building, orders me to leave the office with a finger, "Azizov told Turan.
Recall that KLO demanded the school leadership dismiss the English language teacher Rovshan Azizov, accusing him of disseminating the idea of reconciliation of Azerbaijanis and Armenians among the children. Five days after KLO's visit, the director dismissed the teacher, leaving him and his family with an underage child without earning.
Earlier on the Khazar TV channel, a video was shown, telling about the advanced and successful pedagogical methods of R. Azizov. In the story the schoolchildren expressed pleasure, characterizing the teacher"s lessons. The same story was shown by the Russian television channel Dozhd (Rain) (https://tvrain.ru/teleshow/vechernee_shou/uchitel-459463/).
The school principal argued Azizov's dismissal with systematic violations of the internal regulations by the teacher, although there is no reprimand or comment in Azizov's personal file.
In February of this year, another incident took place in School No. 220, during which the brother of the head teacher Khanlar Rzayeva, actor Rza Rzayev, came into Mirzaliyev's office and threatened to "remove his pants from him" if the director did not return his sister to the previous position.
Videos of Rzayev's threats can be seen here: https://youtu.be/JSTW3kQkPug
Turan"s correspondent visited the school three times, but the secretary said the principal was not in the school.
KLO chairman Akif Naghy in an interview with Turan admitted that his organization came to the school and demanded the cessation of pro-Armenian propaganda. "We conducted dialogue in an ethical framework. And the teacher"s dismissal can be explained with the campaigns against him in social networks," he said.
P.S. At the very last moment it became known the court rejected the teacher's claim since the legally established time for handling a lawsuit regarding his dismissal was overdue.--0--
