Taleh Bagirzade explained the goals of his hunger strike
Baku/09.12.22/Turan: The leader of the Muslim Unity Movement Tale Bagirzade has been on hunger strike for the 13th day in colony n 12.
On December 8, Bagirzade was visited by his wife Leyla Ismailzade and Agali Yakhyaev, a member of the board of the DME, in the colony.
As DME told Turan, despite the weakening of the body as a result of the hunger strike, Bagirzade intends to continue the action.
At the same time, Bagirzade pointed out that his hunger strike is not quite right in the media.
He stressed that the goal of his hunger strike was by no means to achieve a transfer to another colony.
Bagirzade said that the situation is the same in all colonies and there is no point in transferring to another place, the DME further noted. “Tale Bagirzade, while conducting a hunger strike, wants to draw attention to the arbitrariness in the prisons of Azerbaijan, to the rude, bad, and sometimes inhuman treatment of prisoners. He says that if he, a theologian, is treated like that, then how to be another prisoner," the DME noted.
* Bagirzade went on a hunger strike on November 26, after he was transferred from the Gobustan prison to colony n 12 and immediately subjected to insults from the deputy head of the institution.
** In 2015, Bagirzade was arrested during a special operation in Nardaran and sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of terrorism, an attempt to change the constitutional order, the creation of an illegal armed group, etc. He was recognized as a political prisoner.-03B06-
