The appeal of Khadija Ismailova is postponed
Consideration of the appeal of the journalist Khadija Ismailova to the verdict on the suit of the former opposition leader Elman Hasanov (Turkoglu), was postponed indefinitely.
The reason is today's appeal against the court's decision, which rejected the request for re-trial.
Therefore, meeting today in Baku Appeal Court was delayed a few minutes after the start.
The hall met Ismayilova welcomed with applause, but she was again put behind bars. Addressing the judge Gail Mammadov, Ismayilova stated that she is not allowed to speak to lawyer. However, the judge said that the question is not within his competence. Ismayilova conveyed her fellow journalists: "Hold on tight. I am waiting from you good journalist investigations. Do not worry about me. "
The mother of the journalist wanted to go to the cage, to see her daughter, but convoy did not allow it.
The lawyer of Ismayilova ,Yalcin Imanov, said that he's not allowed meeting with a journalist in jail on the pretext that he was a witness in a criminal case on the activities of "Radio Azadliq." However, Imanov said that it is absolutely groundless ban.
