The Court of Appeal dismissed the nephew of Orduhan Teymurhan
Baku Court of Appeal today dismissed the appeal on the arrest of Sabuhi Zeynalov, nephew of political emigrant Orudhan Teymurhan. Zeynalov along with 12 other relatives, including women and children, he was arrested on February 18 of Surakhani district police officers. The next day the women were released, but Zeynalov and brother of the political emigrant Khanlar Dadashov was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest, accusing him of not subordinating police. During the meeting, the lawyer Elchin Sadigov spoke about the accusations of fraud. The police claimed that Zeynalov and Dadashov February 19 did not obey the police when checking the passport regime.
However, at a specified time, they were in Surakhani police and could not be at the address noted in the protocol.
Sadigov requested geo-position phones Zeynalov and Dadashov from mobile operator at the time specified in the protocol. However, the judge rejected the request of Mirpasha Huseynov.
Also Sadigov petitioned to request data from the surveillance cameras of Surakhani District Police Office from 18 to 20 February. But it application was dismissed.
Sadigov and other lawyer Agil Laidjev indicated that Zeynalov and Dadashov and persecuted because of the blogger activity of Orudhan Teymurhan.
"Today, in Azerbaijan for political reasons are arrested relatives of undesirable persons," said Laidjev and asked the court to at least take into account that on 12 March will be Zeynalov’s wedding and reduce his sentence, and gave an invitation card to the judge.
If Zeynalov is not be released before the wedding, it will be also a violation of his right to family life, and will be appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. Zeynalov, in turn, said that the police deceived them, saying that if in the court they admit resisting police, they only will be fined 200 manats, and be released. Dadashov who was in the hall confirmed this. After the meeting court dismissed the appeal leaving him under arrest. Then was considered the complaint of Dadashov, and was left in custody.–03С06-
