The Court of Appeal released the son of the head of executive power of Sabail district
On 29 June the Court of Appeal under the chairmanship of Vagif Mursagulov reduced from 5.5 to 3 years the sentence to Ilham Askerli, the son of Asif Askerov, the head of executive power of Sabail district. The court also changed the measure of restraint – he is to serve his term in the penal colony. Thus, Ilham Askerli was free.
On 12 May, 2015 the Baku Serious Crimes Court passed sentence in the case of death of Sanan Mirzoyev in an accident, the son of the head of the Baku office of "Mc Donald's" Magsud Mirzoyev.
The court found guilty of this Ilham Askerli and Ahliman Suleymanov, and sentenced them to 5.5 years and 6 years in prison. Both were taken into custody in the courtroom.
Sanan Mirzoyev died as a result of the accident on on the highway Zig-Airport on 29 September, 2014. The car "Mercedes S500" driven by Ilham Askerli run into a truck "Howo", driven by Ahliman Suleymanov.
In the "Mercedes" at that time were Sanan Mirzayev and Parvin Fatullayev (driver, which gave his place to Ilham.)
Sanan Mirzayev died a short time later in hospital, and Fatullayev and Askerli were injured, and after treatment, were placed under house arrest.
According to the testimony of the witnesses "Mercedes" was driving at a speed of 180-200 km/h and hit a truck while trying to overtake.
Magsud Mirzoyev , father of the deceased, said that the head of the district was engaged in rescue of his son, and did nothing to help Sanan. Magsud Mirzoyev on that day was traveling abroad.—06В—
