The Ministry of Internal Affairs does not comment on reports of a mass challenge to the police of the participants of the upcoming rally
Baku / 26.10.17 / Turan: The Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not react to media publications that about 100 people were summoned to the police in connection with their intentions to participate in the upcoming October 28 rally of the opposition. For example, the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not comment on Turan's publication of the Report agency that the police demands explanation in connection with their intentions to participate in the opposition rally. In addition, the report says that the participants of previous actions were massively photographed and identified precisely on the basis of these surveys.
In fact, this means recognition in the mass surveillance of citizens and restriction of their rights in connection with political views. Previously, the police responded rather quickly to such publications, calling them provocative and biased. Why in this case the Ministry of Internal Affairs shows such "indifference" can only guess. It is possible that the search for potential "terrorists" will be used as an excuse to prohibit the opposition rally on October 28. The fact is that in the above-mentioned publication, mass calls of people to the police were justified by the probability of terrorist attacks at rallies by religious radicals. -02D-
