The head of this structure Kamal Talibov said that there were 415 suicides in 2013, but in 2016 - 535.In addition, there are unrecorded cases, she said. In 2013, there were 18 cases of child suicide, and in 2016 - 29. The number of suicides among women is twice as high as among men. The largest number of suicides is among people aged 18 to 35 years. On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
