The State Committee registered seven religious colleges
Today the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations handed over certificates of state registration to a number of religious educational institutions, the State Committee said. According to the head of the ministry Mubariz Gurbanli, religious rites in Azerbaijan can be conducted only by priests who received education in the country. Therefore, there is a need to train professional staff with religious and secular knowledge.
Today, the registration certificate was presented to the leaders of the Zagatala Islamic College, Ganja Islamic College, Guba Islamic College, Islamic College Heydar, Nardaran Islamic College and Bibiheybat Islamic College. The colleges are run by the Caucasus Muslims Office(CMO.)
However, neither in the CMO, nor in the State Committee Turan managed to get information about when these colleges will start functioning, how many people will study there, how the students will be accepted. According to unofficial information, colleges still exist only on paper.-05D06-
