Turan Information Agency Discriminated by Organizers of Formula -1
The local organizers of the race Formula -1 have not given accreditation to the photojournalist of Turan Information Agency Aziz Kerimov for the coverage of the race.
The representatives of the Organizing Committee for a long time insisted that accreditation should be issued not by them, but almost by the race owner Ecclestone, and so Turan IA had to wait. The day before the race the Organizing Committee said that none of the press photographers was accredited and the reason was unknown to them. However, a representative of the Organizing Committee openly lied as they really accredited the correspondents of such agencies as Publika.az, moderator.az, azvision.az, oxu.az, Azertac, Trend and others.
All of this suggests unwillingness of the Organizing Committee to allow Turan’s correspondent to cover the event. The reason for this, apparently, is the critical stories about the race and its usefulness, published by the agency recently.
Apparently the Sports Minister Azad Rahimov and his company decided to "punish" the first independent news agency of Azerbaijan in this way. -0-
