Will the Milli Majlis be renewed?
The campaign for elections to the Milli Majlis has started in an atmosphere of political apathy and skepticism on the participation of several leading opposition groups, politicians and civil society activists in the elections. In the context of restrictions on freedom of assembly, expression, association and the media, the presence of some 80 political prisoners, many opponents of the authorities prefer to boycott the elections. The observers predict a significant updating the Parliament, of course from the number of officials loyal to government. The increase in the number of youth and women in the parliament is forecasted.
It is not excluded that the authorities will apply new political technology in this election: enabling several candidates supporting Ilham Aliyev's course to compete in a particular district for the parliamentary mandate and to make a choice at the last minute in favor of the person who will hold the most successful campaign.
The advantage of this technology is that the need for fraud will be minimal. It will be possible to renew and rejuvenate the parliament , to attract competent and at the same time politically loyal deputies. This can help reduce social tensions, and it will be the message to the West on readiness to conduct reforms. Thus, representatives of business from the youth put forward their candidacies for deputies. The 40th second Kapaz district of Ganja city nominated for deputies 29-year-old Elnur Eyvazov , a young businessman, head of the advertising agency ADCO.
In 2009, he was a candidate in the municipality of Kapaz district. Although he has not elected, but he managed to gain about 5000 votes with limited resources.
Asking the question from Turan whether Eyvazov sees the sense of involvement in the election campaign, when the election results have initially been predetermined, he replied: "Of course, there are certain stereotypes about the elections in Azerbaijan. But I think that many people try just cover their failures and shortcomings. I believe that if to hold an effective campaign, to bring program to the maximum number of voters in the district, to listen to their concerns and to offer reasonable solutions to problems, it is possible to win the election. "
In his election campaign Eyvazov intends to propose a number of new innovative approaches, and does not want to speak prematurely.
Eyvazov supports the political course of the state. However, the policy needs to be improved and such a contribution can make the younger generation with its energy, initiative, innovative approaches to solving existing problems.
Being asked is not he afraid of competition with more experienced politicians and nominees of oligarchic groups, Eyvazov said:
"I announced my candidacy in my native city of Ganja, and I know well the concerns of the residents. Many people know me as a patriot of his city, as a man of action, supporting social projects to support young people. " -06D--
