World Chess Olympiad No 42 Starts in Baku
The 42nd World Chess Olympiad starts in Baku today. The fight for the medals will be among 181 men's and 142 women's teams from more than 170 countries.
By the number of participants - 1600, the 42nd World Chess Olympiad in Baku is a record.
The competitions will be held in 11 rounds and will conclude on 13 September.
The contest is carried out in the sports and concert complex Baku Crystal Hall.
According to the rating, the Azerbaijani team is the 12th at the Olympics, and it has a task to enter the top ten. -06B-
