Zerbaijani in the town of Tver is accused of financing terrorism
Nurlan Hajiyev, a 25-year-old Russian city of Tver, is charged with the financing of terrorism for the transfer of money to his friend in Turkey, informs radio "Freedom". According to the lawyer Yelena Romanova, the case was filed in March of this year. Ethnic Azeris Hajiyev is accused under the Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 10 years in prison for promoting terrorism through financing. Nurlan Hajiyev said that he met at a party with a young man in 2014, they became friends and communicate in social networks "VKontakte". Soon, the man began to publish photos of Istanbul, saying that he moved there with his family and works as a driver. In mid-2014 there were talks that a familiar of Hajiyev joined the illegal armed groups in Syria. "He said that from time to time he goes to Syria in a war zone, and tried to attract him in their ideology," said Hajiyev. Some time later, the man asked for financial help, saying that he had found a cancer, and he was in a Turkish hospital. Hajiyev's wife transferred 2000 rubles to his friend’s card. In March 2015 Hajiyev said that he was in the "list of the FSB", and offered to come to the police. Then he was released without charge. However, eight months after law enforcement agencies "offered him cooperation" in exchange for a suspended sentence and a fine. Head of Azerbaijani Diaspora said that his friend from the FSB promised to release Hajiyev from arrest to trial in exchange for a confession and promise not to hire your own lawyer instead of the state. Only when Hajiyev signed the papers he learned that his Article excludes the possibility of probation. Lawyer Romanova, who joined the process instead of a public defender, said that the investigation was unable to determine on what 2000 rubles were spent, but there is expertise, according to which Hajiyev shared idea of "Islamic State."
