Gesture of Despair from Yerevan Resident: We Want to Azerbaijan!
On Monday morning, December 26 Turan IA received a telephone call from Yerevan. The caller introduced herself as Tamella Arzumyanyan, a former resident of the city of Mingechevir.
In an excited voice she asked the Azerbaijani mass media to publish her drama that arose due to corruption and callousness of state bodies of Armenia.
According to Arzumanyan, in 2009 her husband and daughter went to France, trying to get the right to permanent residence. However, the family documents were "lost" by the Armenian Embassy employees who actually changed them. So, on the French authorities' request, the Embassy staff said that Arzumanyan was not born in Azerbaijan and the documents confirming it did not exist.
However, as Arzumanyan said, her papers were sold to another person, who was willing to "adopt" her daughter. According to the woman, the Embassy of Armenia in France is engaged in a similar business, selling real documents to those who want to seek asylum for a lot of money.
Arzumanyan’s complaints to state bodies of Armenia were to no avail. Her husband and daughter after a long ordeal, returned without obtaining the documents they had submitted to the Embassy of Armenia.
“The worst thing is that my daughter Malena Torosyan in 1984 became disabled from nervous stresses and now she cannot walk. I beg to inform the public of Azerbaijan, what is the attitude to people in Armenia.
I also know that my call to Azerbaijan is wiretapped by our security and we will be tortured for that, but I am not afraid, even if they kill us. We want to return to Azerbaijan,” Arzumanyan said in conclusion.
It is impossible to check what the woman, who said she was born in 1962 and raised in Mingechevir, said. However, if a person decided to call from Yerevan to Baku and talk about her problems, it speaks about the degree of frustration and poor condition of ordinary Armenian citizens. -02B-

On the eve of a large-scale flood approaching Baku, a disturbing incident occurred in the village of Buzovna, where a Lada Priora car fell into the ground, literally collapsing the road beneath it. The driver miraculously remained unharmed but vowed to seek justice, promising to file an official complaint with the prosecutor’s office against Azersu OJSC, the state-owned water supply and sewerage company, often associated with deeply rooted corruption.

In a bit of historic irony, powerful oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili has managed to inspire rare unity across Georgia’s cacophonous political scene twice in his life. His money and influence forged the broad-based consolidation of opposition forces that brought him to power in 2012, and now, 12 years and three electoral cycles later, a similar pattern of opposition convergence could send him packing.
