Ilham Aliyev cancelled his visit to Granada
Baku/04.10.23/Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev refused to attend the European Political Community Summit in Granada on 5 October, within the framework of which he was also scheduled to meet Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
This news was spread synchronously by nearly all leading pro-governmental media of Azerbaijan.
The EU proposed to hold a meeting between Aliyev and Pashinyan in Granada in a five-sided format with the participation of the President of the EU Council Charles Michel, as well as the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany.
However, the Azerbaijani side found such a format unacceptable due to France's impermissible accusations against Baku and its statements on arms supplies to Armenia.
Moreover, Baku's proposal for the participation of the Turkish President in the talks was rejected.
Azerbaijan rejects any format of negotiations with Armenia if France participates in them. -06В-
