Ilham Aliyev cancelled his visit to Granada
Baku/04.10.23/Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev refused to attend the European Political Community Summit in Granada on 5 October, within the framework of which he was also scheduled to meet Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
This news was spread synchronously by nearly all leading pro-governmental media of Azerbaijan.
The EU proposed to hold a meeting between Aliyev and Pashinyan in Granada in a five-sided format with the participation of the President of the EU Council Charles Michel, as well as the President of France and the Chancellor of Germany.
However, the Azerbaijani side found such a format unacceptable due to France's impermissible accusations against Baku and its statements on arms supplies to Armenia.
Moreover, Baku's proposal for the participation of the Turkish President in the talks was rejected.
Azerbaijan rejects any format of negotiations with Armenia if France participates in them. -06В-

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan published a set of proposals on his Facebook page aimed at establishing long-term peace in the region. Among them, he suggested that Azerbaijan should abandon mutual claims against Armenia, including in international courts. Other proposals include: refraining from using belligerent rhetoric, continuing the demarcation of borders, signing a peace agreement that is 90% ready, mutually implementing arms control, creating a joint mechanism to investigate violations of the ceasefire regime, and dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group.
