A great loss for Azerbaijani culture
On 9 March, at the age of 87, died Laureate of the State Prize of Azerbaijan, Honored Architect, winner of the award "Shohrat", Head of the Department of the Institute of Architecture and Art of ANAS, member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, academician Shamil Fatullayev-Figarov , the website of the Academy of Sciences.
Sh.Fatullaev is the founder of scientific school in the study of the history of Azerbaijani architecture and urban planning in the 19th-20th centuries.
He made a great contribution to the promotion of the history of Azerbaijan national architecture in the world. He e trained 15 PhD and 4 doctorate.
The scientist was the author of over 150 scientific papers, including "Architecture Urban Development Baku beginning 19th-20th centuries.", "Urbanism and Architecture of Azerbaijan at the beginning 19th-20th centuries." "Mosques of Azerbaijan", "Cities of Iran Hajar era", "Encyclopedia of architecture Baku "," Architecture of Absheron "are valuable sources in the study of the history of architecture of Azerbaijan.
