"Azerbaijani nation" - a new book by Aydin Balayeva
New monograph by the Dr. of Historical Sciences, Aydin Balayeva, "Azerbaijani nation: the main stages of formation in the 19th-20th centuries" was published in Moscow.
This work is a study of the formation of the Azerbaijani nation in the context of modernist theory, which rejects the thesis on spontaneous and pre-determined nature of the formation of nations.
Based on the basic provisions of the modernist theory, the author tried to rethink the basic stages of formation and development of the Azerbaijani nation.
On concrete examples the author argues that the modern nation of Azerbaijan is the result not only of objective historical processes, but also targeted activity of the national intelligentsia since the beginning 20th century, as well as of political and governmental agencies of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
In this context, particular attention was paid to the coverage of the key role of prominent representatives of the Azerbaijani intelligentsia including Mirza Fatali Akhundov, H.Zardabi, A.Huseinzade, A.Agaoglu, and M.E.Rasulzade in the development of the foundations of the national ideology of the Azerbaijani Turks. These outstanding individuals made an enormous contribution to the formation of modern nations of Azerbaijan and the formation of a unified national identity of the Azerbaijani Turks.
The book was published thanks to the assistance of the diplomat Ramiz Abutalibov and sponsorship of our compatriot, Honored Builder of Russia, the entrepreneur Alizaman Rahimov. -13В-

In a world increasingly marred by the effects of climate change, art has emerged as an unexpected, yet powerful, platform for raising awareness and sparking conversations on environmental responsibility. One such endeavor is the exhibition "A Different Kind of Climate," currently on display at Kapellhaus with support from the Goethe-Institut. The timing of this exhibition is no coincidence, aligning with the upcoming COP29, the UN Climate Change Conference to be held in Baku from November 11 to 22. The exhibition seeks to engage audiences on pressing ecological issues, blending local and international perspectives.

Amid the urban hustle and the cacophony of modern life, it is easy to forget that nature too has a voice. But artist Elnara Nasirli, with her latest exhibition "Whisper of the Forest - The Magic of Sound," seeks to remind us of nature's pulse — and its message. Now showing at the Gazelli Art House, Nasirli’s multidisciplinary showcase brings the audience closer to the heart of the forest, where every rustle, every whisper, seems to echo with life.
