Documentary Film Festival is under the control of the authorities?
On Friday, the festival of foreign documentaries “CAUCADOC and our rights, and our future” started in Baku. The festival is held by the human rights defending campaign “Art for democracy”, the youth movement "Free Youth" together with CAUCADOC, which is a regional film project, implemented by the Czech Development Agency.
The festival organizers had trouble with finding a place for the meeting. All theaters of Baku and the large hotels refused to present premises. Therefore, it was planned to hold the event in the office of the EL Movement, however, but the Movement itself was evicted.
At the last moment it became possible to obtain the consent of the Civil Solidarity Party, but again the authorities intervened. Before the start of the festival, the representatives of the executive power of Khatai district came to the place, and then came several cars with the police officers. They were told that the event is educational in nature, and uninvited guests left the office. But then arrived the representatives of Ministry of National Security, and began to watch movies for their loyalty.
According to Ulvi Hasanli, the head of the "Free Youth" Movement, festival will last three days and six films will be shown. After watching every film expert evaluation will be given, and discussion will take place.
The manager of the CAUCADOC, Sharka Zahradnikova said that the project aims to development the documentary films in the South Caucasus. There are six films in the festival made in different countries on human rights, social, economic and cultural problem.—16C06-

Ahmet Güneştekin answered questions from Turan Information Agency a few days after the opening of his solo exhibition, Lost Alphabet, held in the 8,000-square-meter indoor halls of the Feshane Cultural Center, managed by the Istanbul Municipality.
