Agricultural Exports Grew by 22%
Azerbaijan is the first ten months of this year put abroad agricultural products worth $ 311.6 million, which is 22.3% more than in the comparable period of 2015, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
During this period, Azerbaijan exported 146.3 thousand tons of vegetables, which is 33.4% higher than 10 months of last year. Vegetable exports generated $ 112 million (+ 38.9%).
Sales of fruit abroad amounted to 117.7 thousand tons, 25.7% more than in January-October 2015. A ton of fruit was exported at $ 1,348.9, or $ 163 less than in the comparable period last year.
Exports of raw tobacco remained virtually unchanged and amounted to 1 666.3 tons. A ton of tobacco was sold abroad for $ 3,863. Therefore, the amount of revenue ($ 6 million 438 thousand) did not change.
The Government of Azerbaijan considers the agricultural sector as one of the sources of foreign exchange earnings in the coming years. Therefore, the agricultural sector, since 2017, will develop with intensive methods. ------08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
